So the message at church today came from 2 Corinthians 4. I think my favorite part of that chapter that was reemphasized so much this morning was when the Apostle Paul wrote “we do not lose heart” (4:1 & 16).
There is also a Hillsong song called “Take Heart” that I was listening to this morning and its chorus says:
So take heart
Let His love lead us through the night
Hold on to hope
And take courage again
One thing that I think we need to remember is that God is always with us. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” I want to encourage you this week to fix your eyes in faith on the promises of God even when it’s hard to see them, read them in the word, and remember that what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Cor. 4:18). No issue in culture or our individual lives can keep us from experiencing the fresh intimacy and joy that come from the Holy Spirit. Press into him because he loves you!
