So I wanted to share a few Apps that I have been enjoying over the last few months. Last summer I switched to all Apple products and it has been a lot of fun figuring out what to utilize some of these for.
A note-producing technology. Type up your notes for your sermon and sync it so that you can use a device to look through your notes instead of the regular printed out paper. This App also has the capability of recording sound. I have recorded interviews, keynote speeches at conferences, and my own presentations so that I can have a record of them to go back and hear.
This allows you to make your own magazine of t0-read and favorite articles. It will also recommend topics or stories that it thinks you might like. I just got this yesterday, but I have not been disappointed so far. You can make different “magazines” that span different topics.
A Bible technology that will give you text, pictures, and social media options. It does have a free version, but if you have a few bucks it would be worth getting the full version. I need a few bucks…so I just have the free one so far.
This will be my last App for review…but find ministry books or devotionals, see what your friends have been reading, and look at ratings that other people have given a book you might be interested in getting. You can also chart your progress and it will give you recommendations of what you might like based on genre and prior books you add to your lists.
I think that as we progress into the age where technology is more and more useful, we should try to be creative, thoughtful, and resourceful to give other youth workers and students an idea of what technology can do to grow our relationships with God and our relationship with others. Let me know what Apps you have really enjoyed using as well!
