I Was A Stranger- Passage 13

Deuteronomy 24:14-

Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.

Paying people the money that they have earned is an important principle of biblical living, business ethics, and capitalism. Though, it seems that many times people are taken advantage of if they don’t know the system and how it works.

Cesar Chavez and the National Farm Workers Association are a good example of this for minorities and immigrants in the United States. We must continue to help make reforms to the system where it is needed and pray for God’s help to do our best in that job. To some degree I know that these issues won’t be as well resolved as some would like them to be, but they are still important issues to bring to the table in this discussion of immigration reform.
